According to Forbes Communication Council, there are ten common copywriting mistakes you can make when marketing:

  1. Forgetting About SEO
  2. Focusing Too Heavily On SEO And Forgetting Human Readers
  3. Focusing On Product Descriptions Instead Of Value Proposition
  4. Failing To Proofread
  5. Writing Long, Drawn-Out Introductions
  6. Using An Overly Promotional Tone
  7. Using Negative Words
  8. Writing From An Internal Brand Perspective, Rather Than The Customer’s
  9. Having An Inconsistent Brand Voice
  10. Including Industry Jargon.

It is interesting that they lead with two issues related to SEO, both of which are somewhat contradictory, but we’ll leave that for another time.
