We have talked a lot about Instagram and so it’s time for a handy checkout …
Set Up Your Profile
- Switch to a Business Account
- Create the right size/shape profile image for your business
- Craft your bio to reflect your business offering and your primary hashtags
- Make sure you use a relevant link to your website (not always the home page)
- Publish 9-12 images before you “launch” so your feed look professional and “full”
- Review each month to make sure it is still in line with what you are actually posting!

Setting Your Instagram Profile
Research Hashtags
- Spent some time researching what hashtags target demographics are using and following
- Look for hashtags with under 200,000 results in the feed
- Create one or more sets of 30 relevant hashtags (you can have a set per persona) and use depending on post content

Post Frequently
- Create a posting calendar (it can be a rotating pattern)
- Post once per business day if you want to simply have a credible presence
- Post 3-4 times a day if you want to get more traction in regard to follower interaction
- Comment on your posts using your relevant hashtag set
- Respond if someone comments on your photo
- Like other people’s photos that use the same hashtags as you.
