Description
For any business, a multi-platform social media strategy is important but, more so, is the actual choice of platforms. There is no one size fits all strategy when it comes to selecting which platforms are right for you.
While your neighbor’s son’s wife’s company might be all about fashion and have a major presence on Instagram and Snapchat, your business might be more “corporate” making LinkedIn and Twitter the better choice. So how do you decide? Well that’s where we can help.
We look at your specific industry and your nominated competitors to see where they are. We then look at your customer demographic and overall target audience and see where they are. We also look at emerging platforms to look for new opportunities as well as review existing platforms to see how they are changing. We analyze what we discover to recommend which platforms we feel will be right for you. But in the end, it’s your decision.
In making our recommendation, some of the platforms we consider include:
- Instagram (*)
- Pinterest (*)
- Snapchat (*)
- Google My Business. (**)
(*) Image intensive.
(**) Mandatory Choice.
Part of our selection criteria is the “culture” of each platform and its fit with your own. We also look at the effort the platform involves and the resources you have on hand to support it. For instance, is the platform image intensive? Is it fast or slow communication? It is casual or formal? How well can you control your message.
Once you have your platforms you can add them to your social media playbook.
